Health and Medicine

Hello, my name is Ronni Shino and I work, volunteer, study, consult and advise in the health and medical field. For two decades, my ongoing mission has been to explore various disciplines of medicine, including but not limited to Traditional Chinese Medicine, Conventional Medicine, Pharmaco-Nutritional, Life Sciences, and Integrative Therapeutics Research. Through different approaches, there are many vantage points in the way ailments, disease and illness may be viewed. This gives rise to various potential methodologies for healing, treatment, and diagnosis. It is crucial to thoroughly understand the mind, body, and spirit in a synergistic way.

It has been my privilege to work alongside incredibly skilled doctors, nurses, and various healthcare professionals in the health, fitness, and medical field. My experience has provided a deep understanding into the complexity of disease, its origin, ways in which to mitigate, treat, prevent or to potentiality cure and when possible, heal.

McMaster University

As part of my dedication to health, you will find Certificates of Attendance via McMaster University, in order to stay current on relevant topics I deem high value and of significant importance. My role as a Surgical Operative Assistant included working alongside certified MCD Osteopathic Practitioner Dr. Linley Leuthard and Pain Physician Dr. Michael Gofeld (MD, PhD, FRCPC — Pain Med). Dr. Leuthard performed the Manual Capsular Dissection (MCD) procedure which is a non-surgical intervention that restores lost range of motion in the shoulder joint immediately. This method of frozen shoulder adhesive capsulitis intervention provided patients with no procedural pain, thanks to an advanced pain management protocol.

In order to fully understand and comprehend old, current and new medical options, I attended the 15th Annual MacHANd day of evaluation and Management of the Upper Extremity to further seek out and understand the various interventions of frozen shoulder, carpel tunnel and other conditions of the upper extremity. Assisting with this medical breakthrough in the treatment of frozen shoulder adhesive capsulitis that was developed by World Frozen Shoulder Clinic founder, Sir Dr. Allan Gary Oolo-Austin, and is only performed by him personally and Dr. Linley Leuthard, has been a truly rewarding experience. It is life changing for the patients and their families who suffer with such a debilitating condition.

Continuing Medical Education

Infectious disease and transmission is something we have all faced during the pandemic. To ensure I am well positioned and sufficiently educated on its spread and potential for contagion, I acquired further training for Covid-19 Contact Tracing by Johns Hopkins University which allows me to further understand the spread of infectious disease. This expands on how interactions and social behaviour such as isolation and quarantine contribute to physical and mental health. Furthering my interest to specialize in the heart, I studied Myocardial Infarction via a course offered by the University of Zurich, this conventional and biomedical approach has galvanized my understanding of how the heart organ is treated, by various technological diagnosis. Suffice to say that you are in the literal sense what you eat, as food is the initial point of health and well-being. Stanford universities Introduction to Food and Health is packed with vital information that I have benefited from, which I pass through my interactions with my clients and those seeking my opinion on certain topics.
